Do you accept applications from graduates who require a work permit?

Unfortunately we are only able to accept applications from those currently holding a valid UK work permit.


I have no previous work experience - can I still apply?

There is no requirement for you to have had any relevant work experience if you are applying to any of our graduate vacancies. However, we do prefer candidates who can demonstrate strong research skills and experience; and for the Sales positions, candidates with exposure to a sales environment are also preferred.


I’ve already graduated. Am I still eligible to apply?

Yes. We recruit graduates with relevant work experience as well as people who have just graduated.


I was not successful in getting a first interview. Can I get feedback?

The large number of applications we receive means we’re not able to give feedback unless you’ve actually had an interview. If you are not successful at first interview and want feedback, please contact us.

Interview Advice:

1. Before the interview

Ensure that you understand the requirements of the role, either through information provided on the website or the job description with which you will have been provided. Ensure you have good examples from your previous experiences to show why you would be the best candidate for the job.

2. Research, research, research

We will expect you to have obtained a good knowledge of WTG, the products we offer and industries we work in by reviewing our website, talking to people who either work or have worked at WTG or reviewing any press material.

3. The day of your interview

Ensure that you are professionally presented for your interview – smart business attire is appropriate and you need to make sure you are prepared and arrive on time. If you are delayed for any reason make sure you call ahead and inform us as soon as possible. There is a map and public transport planner available on the website to ensure you can plan your route fully.

Position: Audio Visual Producer

Description:

Audio Visual Producer

Job Role

Working within a friendly Design team, and in particular with the Audio Visual Producer and the Art Director, you will assist in converting captured video content from events, noting in and out points and exporting to flv format.

You will also aid in capturing footage from tape into Adobe Premiere. Occasionally, small amounts of sound editing will be required using Adobe Soundbooth.

It's likely that you will also aid in shooting interviews, which will involve helping to set up lights, sorting out sound and camera placement.

Essential Skills/Knowledge

  • Previous experience of editing using Premiere/Final Cut.
  • Knowledge of video export/encoding settings.
  • Ability to capture footage from tape using Premiere.
  • Ability to deal with several different tasks at once and be able to organise them both in priority, and for easy access on a computer.
  • Ability to work to own initiative (at an event).

Desirable Skills/Knowledge

  • Some knowledge of sound editing.
  • Knowledge of FTP programs and uploading content to the internet.
  • Some ability with technical equipment e.g. problem solving connections, setting up a computer > camera connection.

Position: Database List Researcher

Description:

London Office 

Working as a Database List Researcher, you would aid the marketing department by generating key contacts for event-specific marketing and sales campaigns. The role involves obtaining and expanding contact details for potential clients, and verifying the contact information of existing clients via telephone qualification.

The ideal candidate will have a good telephone manner, a keen eye for detail and be a fast learner. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential, and a second or third language is beneficial.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contacting prospect clients by telephone to collect and confirm full contact details based on own research or lists provided by marketing.
  • Questioning prospects via telephone to ascertain their relevance to our events.
  • Ensuring all data and contact details collected are entered as briefed into correct fields on Excel spreadsheets.

Skills required:

  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
  • Ability to gain confidence and product knowledge when discussing the event topic
  • A proven track record in data research would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

World Trade Group is looking for a talented and industry experienced Graphic Designer to join our busy and dynamic team in downtown Toronto. The Graphics Designer is responsible for executing a wide range of creative design projects, including exhibition signage, publication layout, branding, graphics, web design, marketing collateral, and Flash animation projects. The incumbent thrives on creative business challenges and has the ability to switch quickly between several projects driving them from start to completion.


The role will involve:

Position: Business Analyst

Description:

World Trade Group is looking for a talented and industry experienced Business Analyst to join our busy and dynamic team in downtown Toronto. The Business Analyst is responsible for executing a wide range of financial analyses and reporting. The incumbent has a keen eye for detail but keeps a broad view of the business in their dealings with executives and sales managers.  This is a part-time position, typically 2 days per week and 4 days once a month during the management accounting cycle, although some flexibility may be required.

The role will involve:

  • Creating, implementing and monitoring processes and procedures around the creation of monthly forecasts
  • Preparing periodic financial analysis, including budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Preparing financial analysis for informing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies
  • Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
  • Conducting analysis for pricing on core products and proposals
  • assisting in the preparation of analysis for improving business performance
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers, for example:
  • o Weekly analysis of core sales performance including run rate analysis, sales yields performance, under performance flagging
  • o Event costs analysis against budget/forecast

The ideal candidate is someone who may be seeking a part-time role to balance their work/life.   The role will report directly to the CEO and will work closely with the Group Financial Controller based in London, UK.

Candidates should have:

  • A bachelor's degree with a major in financial analysis.
  • Financial & business analysis experience preferably gained either within a sales business or small (150+ employees) international organization.
  • Accounting designation (CMA, CGA)
  • Superior functional knowledge of Excel and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access).
