Jennie Monon
Head of HR, Operations and IT Banking, ING Group

Jennie Monon is currently the Head of HR, Operations & IT Banking, following her recent role as Global Head of Talent Management for ING Group. Previous to these roles, Jennie was HR Director for the green field organisation of ING Direct in the UK, building this organisation from scratch to being #5 in the FT’s Best Workplaces List of 2007.

Jennie is a career veteran of Hewlett Packard, holding senior business consulting roles before moving into human resources in the early 90s. Jennie has held positions in compensation and benefits, learning and development and business bartnerships at country, European and global levels, in both small software houses and major corporations.

Jennie will provide an insight into the talent process for 130,000 staff, brokering and moving talent across the globe and the implementation of new succession planning techniques at ING.

Tom Stewart
Leading Management Author & Thinker; Former Editor and Managing Director of the Harvard Business Review; Chief Marketing and Knowledge Officer, Booz and Company

Thomas A. Stewart most recently served as editor and managing director of Harvard Business Review, and is a bestselling author, an authority on intellectual capital and knowledge management, and an influential thought leader on global management issues and ideas.

During Stewart’s six years with Harvard Business Review, the magazine was twice a finalist for general excellence in the National Magazine Awards, and received an “Eddie” in 2007 from Folio Magazine. Previously, Stewart served as the editorial director for Business 2.0 and as a member of Fortune’s board of editors. He is the author of two books: Intellectual Capital: The New Wealth of Organizations, and The Wealth of Knowledge: Intellectual Capital and the 21st Century Organization, published by Doubleday Business in 1998 and 2003 respectively.

Stewart is currently the Chief Marketing and Knowledge Officer (CMKO) of the global management consulting firm, Booz & Company.

Jason Spiller
Editor, theHRDirector

Jason has a publishing career spanning 25 years. He has been editor, managing editor and publisher of more than 30 titles in the news trade sector, incorporating subjects such as lifestyle, films, music, football, computing, internet and video gaming.

Prior to entering the B2B market, he was Managing Director of holiday property publisher, Stilwell’s, successfully managing the migration from published product to web based operation and overseeing the acquisition of the business to US giant corporation, Cendant. Jason now brings his wealth of experience of publishing and senior management to his editorship of the theHRDIRECTOR, and fronts both the publishing and live events, including roundtables and conferences.

Deborah Borg
Global HR Director, Marketing and Sales, Dow

Deborah began her career with General Motors Australia, where she assumed a variety of roles over her six years of service. After generalist roles in the engine operations facility, she assumed the position of Organisational Effectiveness Consultant, charged with establishing General Motors University in the Pacific region and setting up assessment and development centres for recruitment and high potential development.

Deborah joined Dow in 2000 as the HR manager for Australia and New Zealand, based in Altona, Melbourne. During her time in the Pacific, she led compensation initiatives in the Pacific region and led a number of projects concerning human resources development (HRD) and workforce planning. In 2003, Deborah relocated to Horgen, Switzerland, to take on the role of HR Business Service Leader. In October 2006, she relocated to Midland, Michigan to assume the role of Workforce Planning Leader for North and Latin America, managing the recruiting activity for these two regions.

Deborah was appointed to her most recent role of Global HR Director, Marketing and Sales in January 2008.

Cheryl Lee
Director of HR, Medway NHS Foundation Trust
Cheryl Lee was appointed to her HR director role at the age of 28, one of the youngest ever NHS board appointments. She has worked in the public and private sectors, and in her current role at Medway NHS Foundation Trust, she has taken a commercial approach to HR practice, focusing on developing Medway people to deliver better outcomes and experience for patients. Her ambition is to transform the NHS through evidence based and patient focused HR practice.
Sally Jacobson
Group Director, HR, London & Quadrant Housing Trust

Sally Jacobson is currently Group Director, Human Resources at London & Quadrant Housing Trust. Sally oversees 1000 staff and is responsible for HR, training, facilities management, TUPE transfers and customer care. Under Sally’s management, London & Quadrant have received the following prestigious awards: Investors in People, Charter Mark and Age Positive Champion.

The group has been placed in the prestigious Sunday Times' Top 100 best bompanies to work for list for the last four years. Tower Homes, part of the L&Q Group, was placed at No. 1 in the list in 2006, and won a special award for work/life balance. It was also listed in the Financial Times' 50 best workplaces in the UK in 2006 and has appeared on the list for the last three years.

Sally’s professional background began in the NHS, starting as a student nurse in 1970 in Nottingham and progressing to Senior Nurse Manager at the Maudsley Hospital prior to joining London & Quadrant.

Gary Kildare
Global Vice President, HR, IBM Global Services
Gary was appointed to his first leadership role in 1989 as HR Leader for IBM’s Software Research and Development Laboratory in Winchester. His career then led him to IBM's Corporate Headquarters as Director of Compensation for the US, Latin America and Canada and then to the positions of Global Compensation Leader and Director of Global HR Strategy.

Gary returned to Europe in October 2002 to the role of Vice President and Chief HR Officer for IBM Global Business Services for Europe. In May 2008 he was appointed as Global Vice President, HR for Europe, Americas, Asia Pacific.

Gary has a particular interest in major international business transformation, acquisitions, talent and change management and is passionate about securing competitive.

Nadine Jones
HR Director Baugur Group
Baugur Group is an international investment company focussing on investments within the fields of retail, financial investments and media in Iceland, the UK, and Scandinavia. Companies related to Baugur Group employ some 75,000 people worldwide in over 4,300 stores with a total turnover of £9.8 billion. Among Baugur's principal Retail investments are the supermarket chain Iceland, the toy retailer Hamleys, Woodward Foodservice, the jewellery chain Goldsmiths, fashion chains MK One and Jane Norman, the health products chain Julian Graves, fashion company Mosaic Fashions and renowned UK department store chain, House of Fraser. Nadine is responsible for Strategic and operational HR across the Baugur Group in the UK, Iceland and Denmark; Working as part of the 'new deal' team on acquisition and supporting business across the investment portfolio as required.
Richard Summerfield
Global Head of Learning & Development, Ogier
Richard is responsible for the strategy and delivery of all training and development activities across Ogier's nine global locations, having recently joined Ogier in August 2008. Previously, Richard was the HR director at Standard Bank Offshore, delivering the HR strategy and running the HR operations of a multi-jurisdictional private banking business employing around 500 staff.

He joined Standard Bank in 2007 after four years as an HR consultant with Zurich, and was previously at Barclays (London) for seven years, in both HR specialist and generalist roles after leaving Durham University in 1996 (Biology and Psychology).
Dave Ulrich
Professor, University of Michigan
Founder and Partner, RBL Group

Dave Ulrich is as a Professor of Business at the University of Michigan and a partner at the RBL Group, a consulting firm focused on helping organisations and leaders deliver value. He studies how organisations build capabilities of speed, learning, collaboration, accountability, talent, and leadership through leveraging human resources. He has helped generate award winning databases that assess alignment between strategies, human resource practices and HR competencies. He has published over 100 articles and book chapters and 15 books.

He edited Human Resource Management between 1990 and 1999, served on editorial board of four journals, the board of directors for Herman Miller, and board of trustees at Southern Virginia University. He is also a fellow in the National Academy of Human Resources.

Simon Haben
Head of Leadership Development, Royal Mail Group
Simon is Head of Leadership Development for Royal Mail Group. His diverse career has spanned a variety of roles, including Director of Operations, Organisational Development, Consultancy and Change Management. His career started in local government and the public sector, where he led large scale organisational change programmes and was responsible for creating policy. A change of direction followed with the transition to consultancy, working across a variety of industries, delivering strategic projects to businesses operating in highly competitive markets. In 2004, Simon joined Post Office Ltd, where he was Head of Organisational Development until he took up his current post in 2006.
